Work by Solution Tree named Glendale Elementary School District a Model Professional Learning Community at. GESD was one of just 200 school districts in the United States and Canada — and the only school district in Arizona — to receive this honor.

Solution Tree recognized GESD for its sustained success in raising student achievement. The District’s successful implementation of a Professional Learning Community was a major contributing factor in the improved achievement of its students over the last three years.

Through the PLC process, teachers work in collaborative teams to focus on learning, build a collaborative culture and create a results orientation.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition and feel we are on the right track to continued improvement,” said Cindy Segotta-Jones,
GESD Superintendent. “This recognition is due to the poignant and important work of our staff to assure all students learn at high levels.”
