The Peoria Education Foundation’s summer backpack program is in full swing.
With every $25 donation, donors choose to receive a brand new backpack to keep or donate to a Peoria Unified student in need as a thank you for their support.
The Peoria Education Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports excellence in education in the Peoria Unified School District.
To make a donation, which will enrich the lives of the students and teachers within the district, click here or go to www.peoriaedfoundation.org and click the “Donate” button in the upper right hand corner of the page.
The backpack will be available for pick-up at the District Administration Center at 6330 W. Thunderbird Road.
Thanks to the support of individuals and corporate donors, the Peoria Education Foundation awarded $34,000 to teachers for innovative grant programs and $28,000 to graduates pursuing higher education in the 2015-16 school year.
Since 1987, the Peoria Education Foundation has offered grants to teachers in the Peoria Unified School District to enhance the educational experience of students.
The Foundation is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) which provides scholarships to students and grants to teachers within the district.
