Cienega High School’s Commitment to Buckle Club (C2B) will host a “Mock Crash” event with UMAC Trauma Center, Rincon Valley Fire Department and Pima County Sheriff on Friday, April 11th.

The demonstration will start at 12:00 p.m., at the Cienega High School stadium.

The mock crash will be presented to educate students about the hazards of impaired and distracted driving, especially before prom season. During the mock crash, emergency staff with vehicles and a helicopter will respond as though it was an actual accident scene and will give students a firsthand look at the potential tragedies that could result from impaired and distracted driving.

A Safety Fair will take place after the ‘mock crash’. In the school courtyard there will be exhibits, booths and activities for students.

The event will hopefully illustrate the dangers of driving, through the tragic experiences of others and commentary by emergency responders and safety educators.

Media is welcome.
