District hosts parent meeting on Native American funding

Parents and guardians are invited to attend at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 in the school district’s Student Services Center, 1025 N. Country Club Drive, Mesa.

Impact Aid, Title VII and Johnson-O’Malley funding

Mesa Public Schools will welcome parents and guardians of Native American students. The district serves most of Mesa, part of Chandler and Tempe, unorganized land in Maricopa County, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Fort McDowall Yavapai Nation.

The purpose of this meeting is for parents and guardians to suggest the best use of Impact Aid, Title VII and Johnson-O’Malley funding for the educational needs of Native American students. These funds are awarded to the school district’s Native American Education Program to supplement the educational program.

The district’s goal is to provide tools to help students reach their maximum potential and to help make their educational experiences positive and rewarding.
