Desert Mountain, STEM club to host NASA speaker

Desert Mountain High School and the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics  Club will host an evening with NASA representative Karla S. Shy from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at the school auditorium.

Students, faculty and staff of Desert Mountain High School, and community members are invited to the talk at the school at 12575 E. Via Linda in Scottsdale.

Ms. Shy will speak to the community about her experiences at NASA and its influence on STEM, how NASA works and how future advancements will change daily life and the world we live in. Ms. Shy will prepare and demonstrate a hands-on activity.

Desert Mountain High School student Mehek Mohan founded the DMHS STEM Club this year in order to engage high school students to contribute to and learn about the expanding career fields available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The event is free to attend.
