Deanna brings education to life and instills a love of learning.

Deanna helps students in many ways, including enhancing their fluency and comprehension. A retired teacher, she has wonderful instincts and ideas. She plans from home, previews instructional materials and checks out library books to illustrate concepts and broaden knowledge.

Deanna is like Mary Poppins. She brings goodies for students and rewards them with colorful stickers and bookmarks. She shares her experiences from Canada and opens the children’s eyes to life outside Arizona.

Most of all, Deanna is kind, loving, patient and friendly. She believes in living a life full of purpose. She is truly a gem among the Porter community.

Deanna, thank you for your dedication to Porter Elementary. We are pleased to honor you as a Mesa Public Schools Volunteer of the Month.
