H.L. Suverkrup Elementary named an Apple Distinguished School

Crane School District‘s H.L. Suverkrup Elementary School is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2019-2020 for its effective implementation of innovative technology, integration of innovative technology through a variety of the school’s facet, and for its continued hyper-focus on STEAM curriculum at all levels of its academic hierarchy.
“Our H.L. Suverkrup family is so excited for this amazing recognition – technology, collaborative-inclusion and innovation are at the forefront of our platform,” said Principal Trish Valentin.
“Technology has been an influential ‘game-changer’ at our school – helping us raise the academic bar. iPad, Mac and Beat products and innovative philosophies are blended in all academic areas, but especially in science and math,” Valentin said.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership and educational excellence that use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

The selection of H.L. Suverkrup as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment.
Integration of innovative technology such as the iPad, Mac and Beats plays a significant role in how our educators lead, instruct and teach social and emotional intelligence while working with peers and others across the school.
Apple professional learning services has provided H.L. Suverkrup with an added layer of value, support and industry leading knowledge and experiences that can be brought to the classroom setting and beyond the classroom walls of H.L. Suverkrup.
Across the school, we have seen a significant shift – our students and staff are ‘stepping-outside-of-their-comfort-zones’ and are leveraging new technology such as the iPad, Mac and Beats and other apps to enhance their academic instruction and
learning capacities.
