Fifth graders at Centennial Elementary in the Higley Unified School District displayed their learning through research, STEM activities, creativity, and curiosity on all topics related to Earth and space science during the school’s second Earth and Space Independent Study Showcase.

Amanda Day and Cassandra Parsons, Centennial’s fifth-grade science teachers, love supporting their students’ curiosity on space topics as they lead them to become experts in the area of their choice.

Students took on a variety of topics, from sun studies and dwarf planets to black holes.

“We are proud of the high level of thinking, problem solving, and immense creativity that students put into their showcase Independent Study projects,” Day said.
