Mia Hernandez, a Carl Hayden High School senior, has won an honorable mention in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition in New York City.
She competed with art students from around the United States. She is a fourth year Magnet student with exceptional skills in design, animation, video and audio editing.
Her animation “Tea for Two,” is an original story, designed specifically for the Duck Tape Company award.
“She created and animated the characters, from duck tape, animated and wrote all the music herself. This is a tremendous undertaking for one artist,” teacher Michele Delgado said.
