Camelback High School marketing teacher and DECA advisor Julia Bourdo was awarded the Teacher Leavey Award for her project submitted that dealt with  teaching the Free Enterprise System and  incorporating “Conscious Capitalism.”

The special award ceremony will be May 1-4 in Philadelphia, PA with a cash award of $7,500 and a commemorative plaque.

There are eight teachers throughout the country who were selected by the panel that recognized educators for their innovative efforts to help young people better understand the function and benefits of America’s private enterprise system.

The Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge has an entire weekend planned for the educators paid for by the Leavey Foundation.
