Kindergarten registration for the 2016-17 school year is open across the Peoria Unified School District.
Thanks to community support in passing the 2015 override, full-day Kindergarten will be free at all Peoria Unified elementary schools beginning fall 2016.
All Peoria Unified elementary schools will offer evening registration opportunities in the weeks to come during an event called Connect to Kindergarten. Parents can learn more about the Kindergarten experience, meet Kindergarten teachers, tour the school and how to prepare their child for Kindergarten. The first day of school for the 2016-17 school year is Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Parents should bring the following documents when they register their child for Kindergarten:
- registration packet
- the child’s original birth certificate;
- up-to-date immunization records;
- proof of residency in the district (a utility bill or lease agreement is acceptable)
Enrollment forms can be found on the district’s website at www.peoriaud.k12.az.us or obtained at any of Peoria Unified’s elementary school offices. Families who live outside of the district’s boundaries can register their child for a Peoria Unified school by filling out an Open Enrollment Form and bringing it to the school of their choice.
For more information, please call your neighborhood school or contact the district office at 623-486-6000.
