The Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation is excited to present the 8th Annual Rock the District Concert. Rock the District, in its 8th year and at a brand new venue, benefits the Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation.

This year’s show is jam packed with 20 solo artists, duos, rock, pop, punk and country bands, with a total of 53 performers hitting the stage. The Sonoran Trails Middle School choir will also be joining their peers to showcase their vocal talents.

These performers, with big name talent, shows, EPs and CDs under their belts, are accomplished artists.

Returning Rock the District performers include

  • Kailin Kay: Alice Cooper’s Proof is in the Pudding finalist
  • Halle Abadi: Alice Cooper’s Proof is in the Pudding semifinalist,
  • Divided Minds: Named by Phoenix New Times as one of the best metro Phoenix bands under 21 for 2017.
  • Don’t Tell Mom: Finished 3rd in the 2016 Proof is in the Pudding Competition.
  • Homestretch: Featuring the talents of Grady Byrne and Matt Ward

Rock the District was started eight years ago by Cactus Shadows High School alumnus Melissa Nelson. Melissa is now studying and working in New York City, and most recently appeared in an episode of Law & Order.

All proceeds from Rock the District benefit  Cave Creek Unified School District teachers.  The teachers submit grant applications for items  that are otherwise not district  funded and meet CCUEF’s Four Pillars:  Technology; Music and the Arts; International Learning; and Health and Wellness.

In September 2016, CCUEF awarded more than $20,000 in grant awards to teachers throughout CCUSD. In the four years the foundation has been awarding grants, more than $100,000 has gone directly to CCUSD classrooms.

Food and beverage will be available for purchase during the concert along with a raffle and silent auction.
