Five-Member Board – Same Household Limitation
By legislative restriction applicable to five (5) member Boards, persons related as immediate family and having the same household within four (4) years:
A. Shall not serve simultaneously on the Governing Board.
B. Are ineligible to be a candidate for nomination or election to the Governing Board, except when a member is serving in the last year of a term of office.

The Balsz School District’s Governing Board consists of five elected volunteer community members who serve a four-year term in non-partisan elections to represent the residents within the District’s boundaries. The Governing Board plays a critical role in the formulation and approval of policies that guide the operation of the district. Board candidates must reside within the District boundaries for one year prior to being elected to office. Arizona law does not limit the number of terms a member can serve.
