Before the House Education Committee meeting on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, several attendees shared what brought them there and why it was so important for Arizona’s students.

At the meeting, AZ legislators discussed and approved nine bills.

The House Education Committee discussed and approved bills about dual enrollment (HB 2108), college credit by examination (HB 2438), instruction of English Language Learners (HCR 2001), Holocaust and genocide instruction (HB 2682), civics education (HB 2625), underperforming districts (HB 2684), school supplemental materials (HB 2015), student promotion (HB 2013) and high school graduation transfer credits (HB 2119).

The Senate Education Committee approved three bills at their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020: SB 1234 on the restoration of additional assistance, SB 1059 on the TPT use tax for education and SCR 1002 on the TPT use tax for education.
