Scottsdale Unified School District will host its Annual District Spelling Bee starting at 9 a.m. Friday, January 24 at the Auditorium at Arcadia High School at 4703 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix.
This year, 25 students, representing their schools, will compete for the title of District Spelling Champion in SUSD’s Annual Spelling Bee.
Spelling Bee winners from Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center, Anasazi Elementary, Cheyenne Traditional, Cherokee Elementary, Cochise Elementary, Cocopah Middle, Copper Ridge, Desert Canyon Elementary, Desert Canyon Middle, Hohokam Traditional, Hopi Elementary, Ingleside Middle, Kiva Elementary, Laguna Elementary, Mohave Middle, Mountainside Middle, Navajo Elementary, Pima Elementary, Pueblo Elementary, Redfield Elementary, Sequoya Elementary, Supai Middle, Tavan Elementary, Tonalea Elementary and Yavapai Elementary will participate in the District Spelling Bee

ADDITIONAL INFO: This year, 25 students, representing their schools, will compete for the title of District Spelling Champion in SUSD’s Annual Spelling Bee. The first and second place winners and the four runners up will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Andi Fourlis will deliver the opening remarks and make the introductions.
Dr. Karen Benson, director of Curriculum, will present the rules of the bee and Jonna Wallis, Secondary English Language Arts academic coach, will pronounce the Spelling Bee words.
The judges of the Spelling Bee will be Barbara Reinert, Elementary Science academic coach; Kelly Davis, Elementary Math academic coach; and Lisa Zirbel, Social Studies academic coach/new teacher mentor.
