PHOENIX, AZ [March, 2022] – Academic Opportunity of Arizona (AOA) is furthering its mission to provide students around Arizona with the educational support they need to thrive no matter their financial situation. This month, AOA provided 75 students with funding for their next school year, including 17 families from their partner school, Lauren’s Institute for Education (L.I.F.E. Academy.)
The L.I.F.E. Academy is an organization that offers individualized education for students with developmental disabilities, providing them with therapies and programs all geared to their specific needs. Recently Academic Opportunity toured the facility with corporate donors, and surprised 17 families with news they were receiving full scholarships for their children.
“We very rarely get to interact with the families of our students, especially when we hand out the scholarships, so this was a special occasion for everyone,” said Chad Bays, CEO, Academic Opportunity of Arizona. “Seeing the relief each parent had knowing their child would continue to have the support L.I.F.E. Academy provides reminds me why I started Academic Opportunity to being with.”
Longtime donors Cigna and U-Haul joined AOA on the tour of L.I.F.E. Academy, seeing first-hand the impact their funding makes on the students who receive tuition assistance. Here they were able to see how their partnership with Academic Opportunity provides support for students to receive the one-on-one attention they deserve.
“It’s all about partnerships and how we can partner together to help do as much as we can,” said Brad Anderson, vice president of sales at Cigna. “There are so many amazing kids out there that need that extra attention and school choice is such an important part of that.”
On April 1, Academic Opportunity of Arizona will open its application portal for the 2022/2023 school year. For more information on qualifications or to apply, please visit academicopportunity.org/
